“Fremtidens innkrevning” is an ambitious transformation of state collection across Government agencies, and the program is currently the largest digitization initiative in Norway.

In the Norwegian Tax Administration, I have spent the last 2 years working to enhance collection for small businesses, from startups to well-established ones, by simplifying the process for entrepreneurs to manage and follow up on their tax obligations.

Business owners undergo a complex user journey involving multiple government entities. To excel in this task, I have immersed myself in various fields, including the Norwegian Tax Administration, banks, accounting systems, Brønnøysund, and Altinn.

I've undertaken typical design tasks such as interviews, user tests, guerrilla testing, and frequent prototyping. The most challenging aspect has been gathering knowledge and understanding from various professionals, including lawyers, advisors, business developers, architects, and developers. I closely collaborate with all these fields to bring them closer together, ensuring the creation of a comprehensive and more easily understandable product.

This involves modifying and improving existing processes and, in many cases, asking fundamental questions or conducting workshops to establish common goals and meanings. In one instance, this effort has led the Ministry of Finance to reinterpret the law.
