About

During my time as a digital designer at NRK, I had the exciting opportunity to create consistent and user-friendly experiences across all NRK platforms and services. Utilizing NRK's design profile and design system, I collaborated closely with the talented NRK design team, working together to deliver seamless user interactions.

In this role, I took charge of planning and designing new features from inception to implementation. Conducting workshops, user testing, beta testing, and analyzing data from Google Analytics allowed me to gain valuable insights into user needs and preferences. Armed with this knowledge, I sketched out ideas and created prototypes that formed the foundation of our design process.

The iterative journey began with workshops and user tests, leading to rapid refinements through physical user tests and engaging workshops involving real users and the team. It was rewarding to organize and facilitate these activities, gathering essential user feedback to continually improve our solutions. Our first goal was to release a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for open beta testing, enabling us to gather swift and valuable user input for further refinements.

One of the highlights of my experience was working within diverse and interdisciplinary teams. I made a concerted effort to involve and engage stakeholders throughout the design process, fostering a shared understanding and ownership among developers and project management.

A fundamental aspect of my work at NRK was championing universal accessibility. Collaborating closely with NRK's accessibility expert, I ensured that our designs were not only user-friendly but also complied with legal requirements for universal design. It was a rewarding endeavor, knowing that our efforts made NRK accessible to everyone in Norway, regardless of age, technical expertise, or disabilities.
